If you break all the legs off a starfish, well that's mean. And eventually the legs will all start to sprout new stars, but they will be misshapen for a while, so it's still mean. But eventually you will have as many starfish as you had pieces, and they won't look like swollen footed (literally Oedipal, hell yeah) freaks, and that's not too mean. Hell, it's nice. That's how you spread the joy of starfish! I'm like that. Nice, but the payoff is a little ways off...
